For a couple of minutes, Tamsin had contemplated the idea of just opening up Town Hall for the party, but... what would be the point in that? People were fired up on hormones, people wanted to get laid, you needed a space small enough to get 'em close together. So to speak.

Also, this way she got free booze out of the deal, so-- win win.

She'd hung the black sheets back in front of the large store windows (partly to keep the light out, partly so it was slightly less obvious the house was technically a shop she was technically maybe squatting in). She'd tossed a ton of pillows and an old mattress on the floor, since she didn't actually have a sofa, per sé. The rooms upstairs were... well, okay, they were rooms.

And there was a table for incoming booze. With solo cups. Of course.

Perfect. Time for a party. If anyone had seen the posters...

"Oh, I've definitely thought about it. This isn't the first place I've been surrounded by ridiculously beautiful people," Atticus admitted. "I've just never acted on it."

"Oh? And why is that?" Hannibal asked.

"Well, in some places, I would have gotten into a lot of trouble." Ah, conservative eras, always good for bringing good people down. "But mostly, I'm not terribly good at the whole, 'Hey, you look like you'd be good in bed and I'd like to find out if I'm right' thing. Especially if I don't know if they'd be interested."

Hannibal raised an eyebrow. "Well, nobody here is going to get you in trouble." Well, not of the homophobic sort. "And you look interesting." And very much like a friend he had mixed feelings about, but details.

"Why do I get the feeling no one in this town ever gets in trouble for anything?" Atticus said, laughing softly before giving Hannibal a more appraising look. "You look interesting too, and I swear, that's not just this week talking."

And speaking of this week talking...Hannibal shook off enough of the pollen's effect to remember that the sort of appetites it brought out in him...possibly weren't the best things for a first-time encounter (with someone he didn't actually want to maim).

"Maybe we should talk next week, just in case."

"All right," Atticus agreed, "I'll find you next week if you don't find me first."

"It's a deal," Hannibal answered, smiling. "And maybe a date."
