For a couple of minutes, Tamsin had contemplated the idea of just opening up Town Hall for the party, but... what would be the point in that? People were fired up on hormones, people wanted to get laid, you needed a space small enough to get 'em close together. So to speak.

Also, this way she got free booze out of the deal, so-- win win.

She'd hung the black sheets back in front of the large store windows (partly to keep the light out, partly so it was slightly less obvious the house was technically a shop she was technically maybe squatting in). She'd tossed a ton of pillows and an old mattress on the floor, since she didn't actually have a sofa, per sé. The rooms upstairs were... well, okay, they were rooms.

And there was a table for incoming booze. With solo cups. Of course.

Perfect. Time for a party. If anyone had seen the posters...

"When I remember," Irene admitted, a little sheepishly ~~and accurately~~. "I teach Tuesdays, and I've got a girl in on Thursdays and a boy in on Fridays, so Wednesdays are the only time I really have to sneak in without stepping on employee toes, you know?"

Though you were totally getting an eyebrow raise for knowing that, Éponine, you smarty-pants, you.

"Yeah well if your goal is to get shitfaced, who cares what you're drinking," Vic snarked. "Thanks for the party. I'll tell Ralph not to bust it up if it gets too loud."

"I managed not to smudge it on my shirt," Jack laughed. (This was in part because he wasn't wearing much of a shirt, yes. "Tell me what to do and where, and I'll do it."

he realized as he spoke that this was a double entendre, but somehow it was hard to be too bothered about that.

"Yeah well if my goal is to get drunk, who gives a shit what it tastes like," Vic said holding out a can.

That got an approving eyebrow from Eliot.

Yeah, Eliot drank.

What? He was a guy. Who'd spent a fair amount of his adult life waiting around in hotel rooms.

Jack shook his head. "School doesn't accept 'needed to shag myself blind' as a reason to skip class, and it's not worth renting a hotel room by campus," he explained. "What about you? Did the dorms kick you out?"

"Absolutely," Irene said, though Jones was still getting a sort of weird look from her. Was she maybe a robot? "I mean, next week we're on the trip, of course, but any time after that. I've got a couple from a few centuries ago, too, and a girl who I think is from another planet -- it's an interesting mix."

And that got Eliot an eyeroll in return.

She wasn't that drunk yet.

"Tell Ralph he's fired if he tries," Tamsin muttered.

What? She could finally actually threaten with that.

Ghanima blinked. "I'm rather sure that people are what goes on under well-designed couture. I'll never get used to the fact that on this planet the idea of bodies - which almost every life form has - makes people squeamish."

"If I may inquire, what was your former profession before you came to Fandom?"

Tamsin was trying not to immediately make out with every one who came to her party. She was mostly succeeding!

Except for those two times earlier and apparently probably this time, going by the way she was moving in closer.

Not many. She was still fairly on the scrawny side.

Though if she took the coat off -- which she was setting the bottles down just long enough to do now -- at least her sweater was tight enough to show off a pretty nice rack.

"That sounds like a few things," Éponine noted. "Of course I'd still help you take care of them, I've got to be of service after all."

You'd be surprised how many people thought Jones was a robot.

"Another planet. Interesting. I have one from another dimension however she appears to be human. It's interesting that most of the student body and faculty appear to be human only. I somehow expected more diversity here."

"I've never. . . ." Yeah, Eliot wasn't using that awkward 'never have I ever' phrasing. Advantage of doing this as an adult. "I've never slept with my boss."

Not that Damien hadn't tried to talk him into it a time or two. Nor that Eliot hadn't considered it, with his more recent bosses.

"Most high schools in the US I'd say wouldn't need it," Eliot said. "'Round here, though? Seemed like a good one."

Vic gave Tamsin an over-exaggerated grin and thumbs up.

"You got it boss. I'll tell him you gave him the official 'fuck off'."

Tamsin thought about it.

Then she thought about it a little harder.

Finally, she gave in and set down her cup untouched. Sigh.

On one hand, it was cold as hell outside, and that made Atticus not want to leave his apartment at all. On the other hand, he was curious about the people in this town, and this seemed like a good, non-creeperish way to meet them. So, he arrived with two bottles of Irish whiskey in hand and looked around for whoever might want to take one from him.

"But some beers taste good and get you drunk." Eliot took the can and popped the top. "Admittedly, this stuff ain't the worst I've had."

That would be Thief Juice. Thank you, Hardison.

Ghanima just laughed, and drank some of her whiskey. "You ought to try it sometime."

Good things came in threes and all.

Bond was a very good guest, which meant being attentive to the desires of one's host. Which wasn't hard in this case.

Unlike other things.

"Is that whiskey?" Tamsin asked, darting in as soon as she noticed the New Person with the New Booze. "Don't think we have a lot of that yet. Awesome."

"Stop being a beer snob and get on my level," Vic said shaking her head and pulling out a ball point pen.

She stabbed the bottom of the can with a pen and covered the hole with her thumb. She then put her mouth around the hole and popped the top of the beer and proceeded to shotgun it.

When she finished she gave Eliot a big grin and offered him a new beer and the pen.

"I can guarantee that," Eric said, grinning.
