Okay, this party had been born out of actual need (for alcohol and getting laid) last year; this year, those factors weren't as urgent for Tamsin, who figured she could always drop in on Jessica or Mike if the night was a spectacular failure.

But hell, it'd been fun last time. Why the hell not?

There were black sheets hanging in front of the windows again, and pillows and sheets scattered all over the floor to make for little makeshift sitting spaces and nooks. There was an empty bottle (in case someone decided to play Spin the Bottle) sitting somewhere in the middle of the room, and in a fit of generosity Tamsin had thoughtfully supplied a bunch of bags of chips in case people wanted to eat stuff.

The glitter clinging to the sheets and the walls and whatnot: not her fault. Who'd ever heard of impromptu localized glitter storms before? At least the winds had died down well before the party actually started, but there was no way in hell she was vacuuming all that stuff up.

There. Party time.

"Breaking my heart," Tony replied. "Jess, I thought we shared a special connection."

That did not involve dick at all.

"We do. It's an intellectual connection," Jessica said. "We can talk subatomic physics for a while and it'll be like our brains are making out."

"...so, with that logic I've been making out with Reed Richards."

"I'm sure Sue is very understanding about it," Jessica said. Oh god, she didn't need to think about Sue Storm this week.

And Tony was now giving serious consideration to that threesome. "Huh."

"I'm sorry for bringing it up. You know it wouldn't go well," Jessica suggested.

Even as she was thinking about it. In detail. She really shouldn't have been thinking about any of them like that. Well, except Sue.

"But this week..."

"Are they affected right now?" Jessica checked. "And could it even affect Reed? The one in my world didn't need or even have internal organs, so I don't know how pollen would work on him."

Tony gave her a horrified look for that. Utterly horrified.

"Oh come on, that's not worse than him being a megalomaniac," Jessica protested.

"It is when I'm contemplating sex!"

Also, he did date Madame Masque.

"I feel like that should surprise me more," Jessica noted. "But then I think of the you from my world, and no, it checks out."

"I'm not that bad." Lies and slander.

"He was engaged to the first Black Widow while she was setting up an international strike force against America headed up by Thor's brother Loki," Jessica explained. "He didn't know about any of that until it was too late. But anything shy of that and I think you're doing pretty good, relatively speaking."

"Black Widow? Really? I'll leave that mess to Barton." Sorry not sorry, Hawkeye.

"The other Black Widows are better," Jessica said. "The second one was Nick Fury's ex-wife, so you know she's fun."

"I'm actually impressed someone married that man. I honestly thought he was married to the job." A beat. "Or secrecy."

"There's a reason why they divorced," Jessica said.

"You make a good point."
