Okay, this party had been born out of actual need (for alcohol and getting laid) last year; this year, those factors weren't as urgent for Tamsin, who figured she could always drop in on Jessica or Mike if the night was a spectacular failure.

But hell, it'd been fun last time. Why the hell not?

There were black sheets hanging in front of the windows again, and pillows and sheets scattered all over the floor to make for little makeshift sitting spaces and nooks. There was an empty bottle (in case someone decided to play Spin the Bottle) sitting somewhere in the middle of the room, and in a fit of generosity Tamsin had thoughtfully supplied a bunch of bags of chips in case people wanted to eat stuff.

The glitter clinging to the sheets and the walls and whatnot: not her fault. Who'd ever heard of impromptu localized glitter storms before? At least the winds had died down well before the party actually started, but there was no way in hell she was vacuuming all that stuff up.

There. Party time.

"Good taste. And as long as you stay out of my room, you can swap whatever you want with whoever you want," Didi said, glancing over the guests. "I don't judge. I'm thinking about Constantine. Mostly because it'd scare the shit out of him if I tried."

Didi had to think about that one for a second. "Wait, did you cheat to win, or cheat to lose?" she asked. "I can see pros and cons either way."

"... You know, I'd actually pay to see that," Tamsin said. "... Not the naked parts. Just you scaring the shit out of him by being flirty."

"And it's a chance for me to unload a few bottles before my place is covered in them," said Éponine, who dug into the bag and pulled out an unopened bottle of some kind of flavored vodka -- she wasn't sure which, she'd just grabbed it at random but it was possibly pomegranate -- by way of demonstration. "I'd drink 'em all myself but as if I've got that kind of time."

"Are you cleaning up your act?" Tamsin asked. "I don't know if that's cute or not."

"I like to think it's because I'm so charming," Tony replied with a grin. "But yes, perils of a multiverse ."

Jessica considered that. "I cheated to win. But if I was into guys, I probably would have played fair to see what happened."

"I wouldnt have any friends if I did that."

For serz.

"Watch me," Didi said, smirking. "It's not even personal. He just has a thing about my family."

She sipped her drink and added, thoughtfully, "Not that he's completely wrong. But still. I'm a fluffy bunny next to him!"

She so was not.

Tamsin shrugged lightly. "I don't really know the guy, besides that he thinks he's some kind of charming rogue," she offered.

Largely because it was more polite than pointing out that Didi was Death.

Éponine dropped off all the bottles of alcohol she'd brought with her, then helped herself to something else (bourbon by the look of the label) and settled down in a corner. She enjoyed people-watching on a normal day, and this week . . . well, it was more people-ogling, really.

"I know them well," Didi told him easily. "I haven't had any doubles, but I did have a sister who wasn't my sister for a while. And allegedly one of my brothers was here for a while, too."

Eye roll.

"Because all situations are like this one?"

"I just have two teammates who aren't really my teammates." A beat. "Their world sounds a little sad that way."

"Well," Sarah replied, eyeing the can of beer before glancing back up again, "I'm intrigued."

"That's ridiculous," Éponine scoffed. "No, it's only that there's only so many hours in the day, isn't it? And I don't care to clean up glass if my cat gets it in her head to knock bottles off things."

Tables, shelves, stacks of books, whatever.

She shrugged. "'s true, though, I haven't had quite as much lately."

"No, because some of my friends are a super soldier, a Norse god, and a gamma irradiated monster."

"And you have sex with all of them?"

"Vampire healing," Allie shrugged. "I almost would have preferred a nice invasion. Hitting things is almost a good substitute."

"No. That's... traumatic to think about. Thor has a very lovely girlfriend." A beat. "I mean. Yes to one who can shoot you with biokinetic energy and... one with alien powers."

Look, of course he hooked up with Jan and Carol at least once. It was a thing.

"And here I was thinking I was being good," Allie grinned back. "I figured everyone deserved it after this week."

"I glared and reached for it. It was enough to send them scurrying off to the storeroom," Allie replied. "They didn't come back out and I wasn't going to go look for them."

"Wanna find a nice spot in this place away from prying eyes so I can show you what I have in mind?" Fred asked. "Or people can watch. I have very little shame."

"Yeah, but it's more boring," Tamsin said dryly. "Do us both a favor and try to get laid tonight? I'll even let you have Mike."

Who apparently did not get a say in this.

"I don't know whether to congratulate you or ask you what the hell is wrong," Tamsin said. "But I'm going to go with the former. Takes less effort."
