For a couple of minutes, Tamsin had contemplated the idea of just opening up Town Hall for the party, but... what would be the point in that? People were fired up on hormones, people wanted to get laid, you needed a space small enough to get 'em close together. So to speak.

Also, this way she got free booze out of the deal, so-- win win.

She'd hung the black sheets back in front of the large store windows (partly to keep the light out, partly so it was slightly less obvious the house was technically a shop she was technically maybe squatting in). She'd tossed a ton of pillows and an old mattress on the floor, since she didn't actually have a sofa, per sé. The rooms upstairs were... well, okay, they were rooms.

And there was a table for incoming booze. With solo cups. Of course.

Perfect. Time for a party. If anyone had seen the posters...

"There's a ridiculous amount of hot people in there," Tamsin confided, popping the top off one bottle because beer was kind of her booze of choice. "And booze. So I'd say it's going pretty well so far."

"Yeah, I could already tell it was a hot people event." You know, by looking at her. Which he was now doing because reasons. "Sounds like my kind of party."

"Then you are most welcome, bazooka man," Tamsin said. "Make yourself at home. Take your coat off, maybe your shirt..."

"You don't think I should save that for a little later?"

Notice how he skipped over the idea that his shirt wouldn't be coming off during this party.

"Don't wanna play all my cards straight away."

"Is this going to be some slow-motion strip tease thing?" Tamsin asked. "Because I'm okay with that."

"Well I've got the skills at a pro level, so I can't go around acting like some hack."

This was the first time he'd made reference to his past this fast into getting acquainted with someone. Thanks, pollen.

"You're a stripper?" Tamsin said. Huh. "You should be doing great business this week."

"Former," he corrected. "Although now that you mention it, I probably should've been putting on shows this week because let me tell you, that job was great for getting laid."

Construction work? Not so much.

"I have a big living room," Tamsin said.

You know.

(Though it was big largely because it was technically a storefront.)

"Not hoping for a more private show?"

Offering that was mandatory, he was pretty sure.

"Sharing is caring," Tamsin said sagely. "But hey, I'd take a raincheck..."

"I have rainchecks to give out," Mike told her, nodding. "I may be retired, but I can make the occasional comeback when people ask nicely."

That wasn't even just for this week, either.
